It's mountable via samba, what network shares are setup via your web browser?(open the web browser and look at what the network share names are.)you can then use your username on the device & password to map a directory with samba in linux if you are running linux on the computer you wish to access that share.Normally people use this drive array for access in windows. You should be able to see the device in network neighborhood if your username/password you are logged in with match a user on the NAS.so is the computer you are trying to backup with acronis running windows? What version is it running?

Good news for all Iomega IX2 and IX4 non-Cloud Edition owners who want to back their Apple Mac up to their Iomega IX2 or IX4 using Time Machine. A firmware update (v2.1.40) has been released by Iomega which resolves the issue of not being able to backup your Apple Mac using Apple’s Time Machine backup utility. Hi Arun,Are you running the “Personal Cloud” edition of the IX2, basically it physically looks the same as the earlier models though is running the updated “Personal Cloud” software on it.

This version is much more user friendly than the earlier version, that I suspect you may be using?If you are running the earlier version (ie: non Personal Cloud) then that may explain why it won’t allow you to update to the latest version of the code, as this would be for the later Cloud versions of the IX2.Although there isn’t any official way of upgrading your IX2 to the Personal Cloud version of the software there are (ie: have a quick Google) some unofficial ways of updating it. You may find this more useful, though if you do don’t forget to back up ALL your data off of the IX2 first as this unofficial upgrade is data destructive.Hope this helps.Cheers,Simon.
